A popular shrub for the size, juiciness and sweet-and-sour flavor of its fruits. It grows to 1.5-2 m in height. Its white, loose flowers bloom from May to July. The fruits can be picked from late July to late August. The delicious, juicy fruit is perfect for eating fresh, or as jam or juice. Its water needs are high and it requires regular watering. It grows best in a partially shaded spot, in slightly acidic, well-structured soil. In spring, once the danger of frost has passed, remove weakly developed canes as needed, and after harvest cut the two-year-old canes down to the ground. A support system is needed.
